U11 Colts vs U11 Eaton House the Manor

The Colts were back in action this Wednesday with an encouraging 2-0 victory against Eaton House the Manor despite the opponent’s home ground advantage. The strength of the Colts was shown immediately as a superb goal from Alex Sternberg stunned the other team within the first few minutes. Kameron hit a beautiful ball over the defenders’ head and Alex S took advantage with a speedy dash to the ball, taking a shot from a few yards away from the box. He smashed the ball into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance.

The opponents responded with mounting pressure, but Valdemar and Alex T crushed any attacks coming near our goal. Teddy, Jonas and Aryaman were solid in midfield with Rayan making some amazing saves in goal. One of his best saves was when the ball was struck bottom corner, but Rayan stretched and cleared it for a corner. Any potential threat was quickly over as Eaton House failed to execute their corner, and we cleared for a counterattack.

Nicholas was quick off the mark, whipping the ball to the box allowing Kameron to take a powerful shot. Kameron’s shot was perfectly placed but then a defender hand-balled it out of the goal. We were excited as we had the chance for a second goal in the first five minutes of the game.

We had our penalty taken by Kameron who was nervous but appeared calm. The team anxiously watched as Kameron ran up to the ball and struck the ball confidently into the back of the net! He scored bottom corner. We were sure we would win with this amazing two goal start!!

Despite the strong start the enthusiasm after half time started to drift. We had a few chances with an unlucky miss by Nicholas and a few wide shots from others. Nonetheless our defense stayed strong, and no further goals were scored by either team. In the end we settled for a 2-0 victory. Everyone played well but we felt we could have delivered a few more goals to show our true dominance.
